One Minute Meditations

I hope you will use this collection of short meditations to quiet your mental static so you can better hear the voice of infinite wisdom. Feel free to leave a comment and let me know if these are helpful.

You Matter

Open your senses and feel the room around you.

Every object has a unique “vibe.”

Can you feel it?

One by one, feel the distinctive presence of . . .

the walls,

the floor,

the ceiling,

each piece of furniture,

the windows.

Amid the aliveness of all that surrounds you,

Sense your presence here.

Notice how different the room feels because you are in it.

Ah! It’s good to be alive,

To feel a part of all that is.

The Planet Needs Your HealingSpend a moment drinking in the fond thoughts sent your way by all the people you have touched this season–your family & friends, the stranger you held the door for, those who received a thoughtful email or a bit of encouragement from you.

INHALE how you matter to them. Receive their blessings.

EXHALE affection back to them. Send them comfort and joy.

INHALE their good wishes for you.

EXHALE and send them a hug, a smile, or a giggle.

INHALE healing.

Exhale healing to all the people on Earth, including …

the poor,

the lonely,

the broken-hearted,

the angry,

the hopeless.

INHALE God’s peace.

EXHALE that same good feeling to the planet.

Now, more than ever, the world needs you to pass it on.

Be Light Hearted

There’s a smile in the center of your heart.

Can you find it?

It’s there beneath the worry, the ambition, the fear,

Glowing like a birthday cake with 6 candles.

Hidden like a prize in your Cracker Jack box.

Just for this moment, return in your memory

to a bright, blue day

When it was easy to laugh.

Inhale & let that memory soften your brow

and warm your belly.

Exhale your heart smile to someone else.

(Even invisible smiles are contagious!)

Follow Your Breath

Make yourself comfortable.

Close your eyes.

Exhale slowly and fully.

Inhale as though you were thirsty for life.

Ride the wave of your breath . . .

In and out . . . in and out . . . Into the Deep Silence.

Healing Waters

Find a comfortable seat near moving water–a fountain, a creek, a waterfall, the ocean. You can do this in your imagination, right here, right now.

Trail your fingers through the silky flow,

Open to its healing.

Let the water wash through you now,

Cleansing your thoughts of worry

And your heart of fear.

Finding Your Source of Wisdom Soften your brow.

Relax your jaw, your shoulders.

Breathe in and out with a soft belly.

Place your hand over your heart.

Ask this guiding force,

“What do I need to know in this moment?”

Breathe and listen.

Do nothing else.

Your heart will answer.
